LMZ10503EXT: Question about a Voltage output tolerance on LMZ10503EXT

Part Number: LMZ10503EXT

Hi there,

I am now simulating through the Power designer to verify the output voltage characteristics of the LMZ10503EXT.

As a result of the simulation for the circuit below(Rfbt, Rfbb, Rcomp = 0.1% Resister), 1.2V output tolerance was 2.57%.

Does this output tolerance mean +/- 2.57%? Or does it mean + 2.57%? Is there a way to reduce this tolerance?

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

The tolerance is +/- 2.57%. The tolerance is affected by part to part variation and the tolerance of the feedback resistor values. As you have simulated with 0.1% resistor values, there will not be much else that you can alter. I'll look into this further and get back to you if I find any additional thing you can do.

Do note that the feedback voltage variation is +/- 2.5% from Table 6.5 of the Electrical Characteristics which correlates with WEBENCH design results.

    Regards.
