UCC2893: Maximum Ambient Temperature

Hi E2E,

Good Day!

We just wanted to check the maximum ambient temperature it can have?

Based on the datasheet, page 2 http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc2893.pdf temperature is -40 to 125 degree C

But on the website, http://www.ti.com/product/UCC2893/description it says -40 to 105 degree C

Can you please confirm which is valid?

Hi Ron

Please follow the datasheet. The electrical parameters are given up to 125C junction, the absolute maximum is 150C. In general most customers derate the parts so 125C is a more realistic max operating temperature for the junction.

Sometime max ambient is specified as well but the junction temperature will depending on the power been dissipated in the controller and the PCB heatsinking capability as well.
