TPS61021A: Maximum voltage for switching spike

Hello,

We can find 4.8V of ABS max for SW on the datasheet.
On the other hand, approx. 6V of switching spike is seen as the figure 12 on "Application Curves".
How should we treat the gap? Is there another acceptable rating for the short spike?

Dear Sir,
For the short time spike, like the SW voltage spike, it can be as high as 7V. So 6V is OK!

Hello,
I have additional question regarding for the spike.
To improve it, I think we can add snubber R+C to the SW node.
Could you tell me a recommended R+C combination value for TPS61021A?

Dear Sawamoto,
Actually, you needn't worry about the spike. The loss across the snubber is quite big, you could use 1 ohm/ 2.2nF snubber for the first try.
