TPS92641EVM: TPS92641 HG/LG abnormal

Part Number: TPS92641EVM

Hi,

Customer follow PMP8016 EVM board(PMP8016 circuit) to layout as attached file.

And output abnormal seems into IC protection mode as below:

Only circuit change in C28 from 1uF to 2.2uF due to charge voltage to gain to higher.

Any suggest to overcome this issue ?

Warm Regards,

  • By the way, the channel definition as below:

    CH1=HG
    CH2=LG
    CH3=IADJ
    CH4=ILED
  • Hello Lin,

    Can you get an oscilloscope picture of the high and low gate at a lower time-base to see if both MOSFET are on at the same time? It looks like the upper MOSFET short protection is getting met causing the long off-time.

    Also, when taking oscilloscope pictures can you turn off persistence so only one scan is showing on the picture, not overlapped waveforms?

    Best Regards,
  •  Hi,

    Correct the waveform(adjust Iadj lower than 1.6V)

  • Hello Lin,

    I cannot tell what the oscilloscope picture shows, from my previous post:

    The oscilloscope picture should show only one sweep, I have no idea what the above picture shows since it is multiple sweeps.

    The oscilloscope picture should be focused on the turn-on and turn-off edges of the MOSFET HG and LG gate signals (two pictures will be needed).

  • Hello Lin,

    I haven’t heard back from you, I’m assuming you were able to resolve your issue.
    If not, just post a reply below (or create a new thread if the thread has locked due to time-out)
