BQ25100: CHG pin operation

Part Number: BQ25100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24040,

During TTDM, CHG pin is high impedance.

After that, does CHG pin become low when battery is detected and charge cycle begins?

And also, does CHG pin become low when re-charge begins if OUT pin voltage drops to VRCH?

Best Regards,
Kohei Sasaki

  • Hello
Take a look at FAQ regarding CHG pin for BQ24040 the BQ25100 is very similar:

  • Bill-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understood that CHG pin becomes low when charge cycle begins after battery is detected and existing TTDM.
    Is this correct?

And I want ask about recharge,
I saw the following comment on your attached URL.
In this comment, there is "CHG pin remain low after termination even if the recharge has started". Is "remain low" correct? I thought "remain high-impedance" may be correct from sentence.

2.)     The BQ2404X will automatically restart charge if after termination/charge complete the battery voltage drops to Recharge (V-RCH). This is done to maintain the battery fully charged. In this case the /CHG pin will remain low after termination even if the recharge has started.

  • Thanks for pointing out the error in section 2 it has been corrected.
