LM36011: IR mode and Flash mode

Part Number: LM36011

Dear all

        I have two questions about LM36011 device, please help me to resolve them, thanks a lot.

        1. What is difference between IR mode and Flash mode ? I check IR mode use the current value stored in the LED Flash Brightness Register, so I don't know what is the difference between them.

        2. As below picture from the datasheet, it said the pulse width must be set greater than 1ms, so I want to know it will be effect the IR mode ? Because the IR mode is " all timing of the IR pulse is externally controlled"

  • Hi Went,
    1. IR mode has the shorter response time, it was usually be used with fast response time requirement;
    2. No, in IR mode, you don't need to provide such long time for pulse. The minimum pulse for IR mode depends on the boost mode or IR mode.
    In pass mode, the minimum pulse width is about 40us with IR mode;
    In boost mode, the minimum pulse width is about 200us with IR mode.
    Regards
    Sean
