Part Number: TPS62162

  • Question: TPS62162 always work on power save mode

Because when I use TPS62162 provide power to DSP, DSP always get into Low power mode. I test the output voltage of TPS62162 separately, the Vout is normal 3.3V, but the output of PG pin is doesn't show the PWM mode, it seems to work in power save mode. when I change the load of 3.3V output, it still work in power save mode, May I ask what causes this ?

    Answer :

    Hi,

Could you please provide the load size before and after your change, as well as your circuit parameters (inductor value, output capacitance value)? Please kindly provide the schematic diagram if it is possible, so that we can better help you analyze the issue.

It seems that the waveform you tested is SW pin, not PG pin, Could you please help to confirm it? When load current is less than 0.5 * Δ IL, our device is working on the power save mode.Δ IL can be calculated by the Equation 8 on datasheet. To better help the community readings these threads, can you communicate with us in English. Thank you very much !

    Best regards,

    Kevin
