TLV1117: TLV1117-33 input voltage level

Hi, I want to use TLV1117-33 to convert 12 volts input to 3.3 volts output. I have checked the datasheet of the IC in which the page no. 4 says that recommended operating input voltage is 4.7 V to 15 V but in page 6,7 it is mentioned under electrical characteristics as : VIN= 4.75V to 10 V, IOUT= 0 to 800 mA the output voltage is 3.3 volts. So kindly confirm whether this IC supports my above mentioned requirement of converting 12 Volts to 3.3 volts or not?

    Hi Vishwajit,

    The Electrical Characteristics table will state the test conditions that are used for specific tests.  The maximum dropout for TLV1117 is 1.3 V across load and temperature.

    As such you will be able to achieve a regulated output voltage of 3.3 V with an input of 4.7 V.
