LM5160A: conflict between datasheet and webench

hi team,

i am working on a circuit, before it goes to production i checked it and saw a conflict between the design i got from webench and datasheet.

on webench the poles of the transformer i used for isolation are opposite and on datasheet there is not a reminder about this issue.

does it metter? who is right? what is the different ?

Hello Itzik,

This is a flybuck topology. The relative direction of the dots is very important – since the dots are opposite, output power is on the secondary is derived from the voltage across the primary while the device is freewheeling (the low side device is on.) Since the voltage across the primary is well regulated, this results in a fairly well regulated secondary output. Note that in the datasheet the secondary output is drawn upside down, making these drawings the same as the schematic that you sent.
