TPS23523EVM-863: Board not getting power up

Hello,

We have the evaluation board part# TPS23523EVM-863 and followed the procedure written in the user guide of TPS23523 but the board is not getting power up.

There are some differences in between the schematic of evaluation board and actual EVAL board such as :

1) many components are not mounted in the eval board as Q2,Q4 ,Q9,Q12 and many more.

We have provided +48V at J1 and GND at J4 but not getting the output at J2 and J5. Connector J7 and J8 pin 1 and 2 are connected via jumper.while J3 is left open.

We have checked TP8 UVEN pin w.r.t. Tp14 and getting voltage 0.56V less than 1V.

Kindly suggest what could be possible fault.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Q2,Q4 ,Q9,Q12 and some other components are intentionally left OPEN. The jumper settings also looks fine.
We should get UVEN pin voltage of around 1.3V w.r.t. Tp14 at 48V. Can you check resistor values of R4 and R16 values.
What is the load during your test?

Hello Rakesh,

The resister values measured with the multi-meter of on board resisters are following :
1) R4 : 13.0K ohm
2) R16 : 2.23K ohm

These values are not correlating with the voltage you measured (0.56V) at 48V. Please remove them from board and measure.

Hello Rakesh,
After removing R4 and R16 we are getting 0V at TP8.

After removing the resisters from the board we have measured the values and getting correct value as :
R4: 200 K
R16 : 5.6K

Hello Rakesh,

We have made the schematics using the device TPS23523 and the final gerber is going for manufacturing.

Though the schematic review was already done by you in the previous other thread.

I have attached the schematic for your review.

We will not be able to send the board. if any TI person have plan to visit C-DOT Delhi we can handover to them.

Hi Jainendra,

100% of the EVMs are functional tested in production. I am wondering what has damaged on the board.
Do you think the EVM was dead on arrival itself ?
If you are already in touch with a TI sales representative, please inform him. Else, let me know I will inquire about the person responsible for your account.
The schematic looks fine to me.

Hello Rakesh,

The board was unable to power up on the very first time.

We got evaluation broad from Mr. Prahlad (prahlad@ti.com), he had processed the evaluation board sample request.
