Hi team,

Could you give me advise for answering on following customer question?

Can the minimum output capacitance requirement of 2.2uF at LDO2 be decreased, for example 0.22uF? The customer wants to use smaller capacitor as possible. TPS650250 is powering to AM3358.

    Hi Sasaki-san,

    Customer may experiment with different output capacitor values, however the electrical specifications would no longer apply so they would have to validate the solution themselves to confirm the performance meets their requirements. As a result, we generally recommend to use the recommended external components since we have validated this case.

    That said, factor of 10 reduction seems very risky to me and stability of the LDO could be compromised. If they want to test it out, they could use TPS650250EVM-447 for evaluation.
