TPS61241: what will happen with 5.2V input

Hi Sir,

On TPS61241 spec, it shows that is have over voltage protection when Vin higher than 6V, and back to normal operation when Vin under 5.9V.

Since TPS61241 is a Boost IC and fixed 5V output, my question is: what will happen when Vin=5.2V?

Hi Patrick,

Please see Figure 6. output voltage vs input voltage in datasheet, When Vin=5.2V, Vout will also rise high from 5.0V. The output voltage is Vin minus voltage drop of high side switch.

HI Zack,

One more question, if customer would like to use TPS61241 on below condition?

1. Vin = 5V, Vout=5V, Iout_avg=0.25A, Iout_max=0.61A

2. Vin = 3.5V, Vout=5V, Iout_avg=0.23A, Iout_max=0.48A.

Do you think it is ok? Or you have other suggestion?
