ISO5851: ISO5851

Part Number: ISO5851

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing good.

I'm looking for the analog-analog isolator in bulk. I came across your's ISO5851 IC.

Below is the detail about how I'm going to use the isolator.

Sensors which we are using is mainly pressure, temperature, RTD, etc. It will be giving the input(to isolator board) of analog mV. We can not convert the input signals to voltage or to any other parameter. It must be able to handle up to 300V common mode.  And the input range will be 0-10V.

The output of the isolator should not be amplified and the same analog output is fed to the 6052/6029 board(which takes only analog input).

If you have any isolators working for the range 0-10V and 300V CM, then please let us know.

  • Hi, Sudarshan,

Thanks for your question. I don't think ISO5x family is the best choice for your application. We have a series of isolated op amps which might fit your requirements better. Let me ask one of my colleagues in that group to take a look at your needs and recommend a solution. It probably won't be until early next week.

    Have a great weekend!

  • You cannot pass mV level sensor signal through an analog isolation without amplifying them to get a reasonable signal to noise ratio.

Look at TI Products, Isolation, to see if you can find an isolation amplifier with gain sufficient for your application requirements.  Otherwise you will need to pre-condition the sensor signals with op amps or Instrumentation Amplifiers running from an isolated supply on your input side.
