Hi,

I have a question on TPS61193 PWM dimming input. The datasheet specify the PWM Brightness control frequency range is 100Hz~20KHz. If the input PWM frequency is 130KHz, what would happen? Can the TPS61193 still work? I ever tested by testing with 130KHz PWM input signal, the output is normal.

Hi,

The minimum on time is 5us, so for high dimming frequency, it may can't support low dimming duty cycle. That's the concern, so we don't suggest to use such high dimming frequency beyond our spec.

Hi Sean,

I am confused that the datasheet specifies the Minimum on/off time is 0.5 us, not 5us, would you please have a check on datasheet page 6, section 6.9.

If the low dimming duty cycle is 9%， does it work in theory？ When I tested with 130KHz, 9% duty PWM input signal, the output is normal.

Yes, 0.5us is the right number, sorry for my mistake. for 130kHz, 9% can meet the 0.5us minimum on time.
