REF2030: decoupling 5x ADS7057

Part Number: REF2030
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7057

Hi,

I plan to use 5 ADS7057 ADC simultaneously. I supply the AVDD rails using a REF2030 voltage reference with 20mA source current capability. The REF2030 maximum recommended output capacitor is 10uF. The ADS7057 datasheet recommend a 3.3uF decoupling capacitor on the AVDD rail. Is it fine if I put 1uF close to each ADC plus a 4.7uF on the output of the REF2030? Is there any better configuration? What is the recommended decoupling scheme?

Best regards,

Théo Meyer

  • Hi Theo,

The design scheme you are applying with using a 4.7uF on the REF2030 output and 5 1uF capacitors at the ADCs seems like the best solution for what you are trying to achieve and using common capacitor values. The additional recommendations I can make is make sure that you use low ESR ceramic caps to ensure a stable voltage.

    Thanks,

    Abhinav.
