BQ2040: Initialization waveforms to the EEPROM.

I have a BQ2040 which (when power is first applied) appears to attempt to load its initialization data from the EEPROM. The BQ sets its "Vout" pin high for 60ms then low for about 5ms. It repeats this 4 times then stays low. I'm trying to get sure about whats exactly is happening here. But I haven't found any initialization timing waveforms for the BQ2040.

How can I be sure whats happening here?

Hi Darren,

It is an init sequence for the power up. We advise users to not read on init until at least 1s elapses. In that time, the gauge will be loading config data and initializing registers depending on V, I, and T readings.

HI Darren,

I believe that should be normal initialization process of the device. Why are you using the bq2040 which is obsolete when there are newer and better devices like the bq34110
