Part Number: TPS55340
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24133
Hi,
I am working on a new project. In the project, there is a 12V adaptor input, which will be used to power the system load(motor), or be used to charge a 2s battery pack through bq24133 when the system load(a motor) is removed. The load for the system is a 12V DC brush motor, when the adaptor 12V input is present, the motor will be powered by 12V adaptor, when it is gone, the motor will be powered by the 2s battery pack, the output of the pack is connected with a boost converter (TPS55340), the 12V output of TPS55340 will power the motor.
My plan is: 12v adaptor input will go through bq24133 power path, then at the bq24133 system load side, 12V adaptor input or 2s battery pack voltage will be there. Then start from this point, there will be going to two parallel power paths, one path is going through a controlled mosfets to motor when adaptor 12V present, another one is going through TPS55340 boos converter (boost 2s battery pack ouput to 12V),to power the motor. During adaptor 12V is available, the on board MCU will disable TPS55340 by control its enable pin(pin4), and turn on mosfets; during adaptor 12V gone, MCU will turn off mosfet path, and 2s battery pack output will be on the input of TPS55340, and enable TPS55340 boost to output 12V, further to power the motor.
My question is: in this way, during adaptor 12V is present, and TPS55340 is disabled by MCU(by control pin4 EN pin), then both input and output sides of TPS55340 will be 12V. Is this way ok for TPS55340?
Please advise.
Thanks a lot,
Joy
