TPS54424: EN source current

Part Number: TPS54424

Hello,

EN pin source current is 1.2uA when Ven = 1.1V and 4.8uA when Ven = 1.3V. There is a word, "hysteresis".

Does this mean EN pin source current is switched between 1.2uA and 4.8uA? If so, 1.2uA while rising and 4.8uA falling?

We make EN pin voltage by resister divider from Vin. This source current seems to make some error from calculation. Would you let us know how EN pin source current is.

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

  • Watanabe-san,

There are two internal current sources on the EN pin, 1.2 uA and 3.6 uA.  When the EN pin voltage is below 1.2 V, only the 1.2 uA source is active.  When the EN pin voltage is increased above 1.2 V, the EN comparator turns on the additional 3.6 uA source and the total sourced current is 1.2 uA + 3.6 uA = 4.8 uA.  When the EN voltage falls below 1.15 V, the 3.6 uA current source is turned off and only the 1.2 uA source remains active.  The equations for setting the resistor divider are in the datasheet section 7.3.6.
