TPS61097-33: TPS61097-33 vs TPS61093A-33 regarding battery life

Part Number: TPS61097-33
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61097A-33, TPS61098

Team,

I have a customer currently using TPS61097-33 and are looking at TPS61097A-33 , but notice the that quiescent current is almost twice as high on the newer device. That said, we state that a benefit for the new device is "reduced input current variance during shutdown." Can you comment on this as to whether or not the original part is going to be better for a battery application due to the low Iq? Is there a large amount of variance in the original that makes the newer device the better choice?
