TPS2120: Turn ON by a tact switch

Part Number: TPS2120

Hi,

My customer requesting not only input switching function but also ON/OFF function that is turning ON by a tact switch and turning OFF by MCU.

Can the function be implemented by adding external circuit with TPS212x?

Best regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

I have a few questions on my end to clarify your application:

    1. When you say you want the TPS2120 to be "ON" or "OFF", are you referring to both channels being OFF, or just one channel?

    2. During ON/OFF conditions, which inputs are present?

    3. Is overvoltage protection needed in your application? If so, is it needed on both inputs? I'm thinking it may be possible to use the OV pins to keep the device ON/OFF.

    4. Should the tactile switch latch the device ON, or will it only be ON while the tactile switch is pressed down?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

I wanted to follow up on this thread, have you been able to solve the issue?
