UCC27511: Boost Inductor Design Needed

Part Number: UCC27511

I am designing a boost converter. But I am unable to confirm the inductance value. I referred several datasheets showing different equations so I am confused. Please help me to get correct inductance value, gate resistor value and snubber circuit.

Mosfet = PSM20N60CT,  Fsw = 56Khz, Vin =230V, Vin(min) = 180V, Vin(max) = 270V, Vo = 380V, Io = 2A, P=700W

  • Hi Naveen,

    Thanks for your interest in our driver, my name is Mamadou Diallo from the High Power Drivers team.

    The third link is a good starting point to determine basic values for your design. This app note discusses guidelines for a boost converter design built with an IC with integrated switch and operating in continuous conduction mode.

    The TIDA (first link) calculations are specific to that design requirements tailored to the specific needs of that reference design.

    The second link on from your list essentially takes into account the inductor size and package, efficiency, stability and current limit of your boost converter, you may use that link to determine your inductor size.

    Please let us know if you have further questions or press the green button if this addressed your inquiry.
