TPS62823: About Switching frequency precision, FMEA data and Reducing point of switching frequency

Part Number: TPS62823
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62822, TPS62821

Please give me your answer to my questions.

These questions are common to TPS62821, TPS62822 and TPS62823.

①I want to know the variation of switching frequency.
Could you tell me the precision (e.x. ±10%) or measured distribution data of switching frequency?

②Do you have the FMEA data of TPS6282x? Could you send me the document, if there is any?

③The datasheet says as follows;

I want to use TPS6282x under the condition that the switching frequency does not decrease.
I want to know the point at which the switching frequency starts to decrease.
Is there a formula?

  • Hello,
    To see the variation of the switching frequency, please refers to figure 34 and 35 on page 18 of the D/S. According to your application, you can use these devices in PWM or I can suggest looking in a fixed frequency device (no DCS topology). You can use WEBENCH to look for the right part: https://webench.ti.com/power-designer/switching-regulator
    Usually, FMEA data are available for automotive devices, so if needed you should select an automotive device. In any case, I can't post statistical data, because I can't extend the D/S specifications. Can I have some info about your application and volume?
