LM5160A: can LM5160A supply 2A to output as the maximum?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using LM5160A for their new products.

The customer worries about the device maximum output current. They want to know whether the device can supply 2A output current as the maimum or not with VIN=7V~31V and VOUT=5V conditions becuase the maximum current on some graphs of typical application in LM5160 datasheet (SNVSA03E) are 1.5A.

Nakai-san,

Yes, it is rated for 2A output current. We increased it from an original 1.5A spec to 2A, but some of the plots were not updated to reflect that. Just select the inductor to keep the peak current below the min. current limit setpoint (about 25% ripple current).
