Fault signal of TPS2553-1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2553-1

We have a question about TPS2553-1.

Does the timing of  fault signal output fluctuate by EMC condition?

Best regards,

Takahiro Nishizawa

  • Hi,

Sorry, I am not clear about your question.

You worry about the fault signal being disturbed by external disturbance?

I think it's according to the external signal intensity.

It would be better to post your real case.

    Thanks.

  • Thank you for your support!

Our customer are concerned that variation of fault output timing has adverse effect on load.

Does the timing of fault output change change by EMC condition?

Our customer will conduct EMC test.

    Takahiro Nishizawa

  • Hi,

For power switch, without switching operation, we normally not consider the EMC issue.

The fault pin is open-drain, and is just a indicator for such as current limit and thermal.

I think the EMC signal is not big enough to influence the fault.

Fault has no influence on load.

The Fault pin normally connect to MCU as an indicator which will trigger the MCU protection.

Because we never consider the EMC issue before, it's better to have a test and then discuss the question.
