Hi Expert,

Vin=12V, Vout=-40V, Iout=150mA

I tried to modify the EVM to inverting circuit, but it can't work. Do you think TPS54160 can meet the condition? Thanks!

Hi Jerry,

It should work. Please send us the schematic to review.

Note that the effective Vin seen by the converter is now Vin + Vout = 12V + 40V = 52V (60V is the maximum rating of the TPS54160).

Thanks for your reply, after modify the TPS54160EVM U1 circuit, it works.

Should I can the C2, C4, C15 voltage rating to 100V? Thanks!

Thanks, Jerry. Yes, the input caps for your application should be rated for 80V or 100V.

Jerry,

These are low voltage caps, e.g. 16V is adequate.
