TPS25925: Over voltage protection circuit design for HIGHER Vin

Can you please give the following details for to suggest a right part,

• DC Input voltage range:
• Can there be Transient Voltages at Input ? If yes, what can be the Max duration and Max voltage of the transient?
• Maximum Load current:
• Protection Features Required:

• Input Voltage range : 3V - 26V
• Maximum load current : 5A
• Protection features : over voltage clamping and over voltage cutoff

Please have a look at TPS1663 and TPS2663 devices. These should meet your requirement. 

If your input continuous voltage is less than 24 but transient voltage can be upto 26V, you can consider TPS25982 as well.

What will happen If I give over voltage (input voltage > 60V )to the input , does IC protect the connected devices?

If you operate the device at> 60V input, the device can get damaged.

Any IC when operated above Absolute Maximum Ratings ca get damaged.
