TPS2544: Charging current control

Hi Team

Would you advise that the customer are considering USB port for BC 1.2(CDP) to connect

with smart phone and change the charging current by connected device as following.

 

1) to android devices :     max 1.5A based on standard BC1.2

2) iPhone devices :           1A charge

3) iPad devices :               2.1A charge

 

Is it possible to achieve their requirement with TPS2544/46/49 ?

    Hello Shidra,

    Unfortunately no, there is no way to provide more than 1.5A of current while in CDP mode. If your customer would like to provide 2.1A of current to an iPad, then they will need to put the device into DCP_Auto mode, which would then put the charging configuration to Divider 2
