BQ27010: Bit [INIT] can't be cleared by Host, but it is can be cleared by TI tool

Part Number: BQ27010

From TI BU comment that the bit[INIT] can’t be cleared by Host, but it is can clear this bit[INIT] easily by using TI tool. Please double confirm with BU does the way to clear bit [INIT] is reasonable or not?

As below is the test process and result.

We test that the bit[INIT] can be cleared by the way that send data 0x40 to command 0x01.

As below is the step:

1.       Firstly, read Mode Register is 0x44, the bit[INIT] is enable;

2.       Then write data 0x40, to command 0x01 (Mode Register);

3.       Latest, read the command 0x01 (Mode Register), the read back value is 0x40, means the bit[INIT] is cleared.

The bit [INIT] is enable:

Write value 0x40 to command 0x01 to clear the bit [INIT]:

Scan the register again:

  • Hi Skate,

    I double checked, this gauge is different from our other more recent gauges where the host can't disable the INIT flag. It seems possible with this gauge, pls see "

    Register Initialization and Data Integrity Checks" section of the data sheet

    thanks
