LMG3410EVM-018: LMG3410R050 EVM for phase shifted full bridge operation

Part Number: LMG3410EVM-018
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG3410R050

Hello,

I am planning to use LMG3410R050 EVM for phase shifted full bridge operation. As far as i understand there is no reverse recovery diode in LMG341x family devices and in the datasheet pg 9, it says that "it is recommended to operate with synchronous switching and keep the duration of 3rd quadrant operation at minimum."

My question is, does TI advice using LMG3410R050 EVM for phase shifted full bridge operation?

Thank you

Murat

  • Hello Murat,

Our GaN has various of applications including LLC, PSFB, motor drive and PFC. After the Coss is discharged, the current will go through the 3rd quadrant of GaN, which can result in higher voltage drop. As PSFB is a soft-switched topology, we recommend to have adaptive deadtime. According to your leakage inductor current, and Coss value, you should be able to have good dead time estimation so as to minimize the time for 3rd quadrant conduction.

    Thanks and regards,

    Lixing
