LMZM33603: About PSPICE model

Hi,

Could you tell me about LMZM33603 PSPICE model?
Please confirm the attached file.
Customers want to simulate external synchronous operation.

1.Please tell me how to check external synchronization operation using Spice model.
2.Is it correct with the understanding that the frequency can be fixed even under light load conditions by performing external synchronous operation?

    Let me look into this with the Spice modeling team to see if the functionality is properly enabled in the model.

    1. When I get more information on this, I'll get back to you on the testing procedure.
    2. This part runs only in ACTIVE mode which is FPWM at all loads. The internal IC to the part does have a PFM/FPWM functionality, but only FPWM(Active Mode) was enabled on the power module. Perhaps the modeling team took and built on IC PFM model instead of the FPWM model for the power module transient Spice model. I will be in contact with the modeling team to understand this discrepancy. Thank you for testing and pointing out the issue with the model file.

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

    It has been confirmed that the code PSPICE model code includes the SYNC functionality.

    I could like to confirm that you were able to do the following:

    1-If you put an external clk on Model/SYNC, it should override the frequency generated internally by RT pin after some time.

    2- If Model/SYNC is pulled low, the part function in DCM at light loads and in CCM mode at higher loads with the freq. set by RT pin

    3- If Model/SYNC is pulled High, the part function in CCM , no matter what load you have attached.

    Since TI does not use the LTSpice simulator, if there are any syntax issues that is preventing you from simulating the model properly, you will need to contact the appropriate software developer to get the model to converge.
