TPS2001D: TPS2001D junction temperature question

Part Number: TPS2001D

According to the thermal equations of TPS2001D datasheet in DBV package:

Pd=2*2*0.09=0.36W
Tj=60°C+0.36*220.4=139°C

Questions:

1) Can we review the junction temperature 139°C based on above condition? How to reduce Junction temperature lower than 115 °C

2) Can we have the junction temperature measurement data based on following condition?

2-1)     sink 2A in 1 hour under 25°C room temperature

2-2)     sink 2A in 1 hour under 60°C room temperature

2-3)     sink 2A in 1 hour under 85°C room temperature

  • Hi Peter,

    See and use the custom thermal resistance.

    If still need to have a thermal test, can you help send me an email?

    The email adress is a0224015@ti.com.

    I can arrange the schedule to test it.

    Thanks.

    For TI's policy, I will first click resolved button.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ziv

    It looks the conditions are correct according to your replying about TPS2001D datasheet in DBV package:

    Any comments about junctions temperature. customer is asking junction temperature lower than 115°C

    Pd=2*2*0.09=0.36W
    Tj=60°C+0.36*220.4=139°C

    I am sending you the thermal test request to a0224015@ti.com.

  • Hi Peter,

    As replied above, thermal resistance you should use 134.9degeree/w instead of 220degree/w.

    The junction temperature will be less than 110degree.

    Will test the temperature as your requirment.

    Maybe need to apply for the EVM.

    The process will take about several days.

    Will send the results to your email as finish test.
