EV2400: Device not recognized after 0.28 firmware update

Hi,

I just got my EV2400 and I was playing with it around 5 minutes. I tried to do the firmware update to 0.28 and it was successfully.

Now, my PC doesn't detect the EV2400 at all. I restarted the PC and tried the EV to another PC, but COMM and USB LEDs don't turn on. How should I fix it or request a replacement?

I was thinking that I can try to flash the firmware again, but I need a way to put the EV2400 into firmware mode. Is there any button or jumper that I can use to put it into firmware mode?

Hi Gabriel,

To update the fw, please make sure you have the "msvcr100.dll" in your c:\windows\system32 folder and try update with the -s option to force update.

Hi,

I will check it in the morning, but for now my computer doesn't even recognize the board. It was working before the fw update.

Yes, I have msvcr100.dll

Is it registered with regsvr32 msvcr100.dll command? It might not be enough if the dll is just there.

I tried regsvr32 msvcr100.dll and it tells me "The module msvcr100.dll was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found".

I installed "visual studio C++ redistributable" and now the device appears in device manager, but it says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"

The UsB and COMM leds are off

Please unplug and plug back in the device. If it still doesn't work, it means the fw update failed.

Hi Gabriel,

It means that the device is in a boot ROM state. Sorry but sometimes if communication is stopped during flashing, the device may not be discoverable but the updater with -s option should recover it.

Hi Batt,

It said that the flashing was successful. After I disconnected and reconnected the EV2400 it wasn't recognized by the PC.

Hi Gabriel,

No worries. We received a unit and we thought it was from you. You should be able to recover a unit from USB by plugging it in and then using the command prompt to update the fw with the -s option.
