BQ27530-G1: Missing Technical Reference Manual

Part Number: BQ27530-G1

Hi,

I am looking for the technical reference manual for BQ27530-G1. The support has none and refers me here to the forum.

Kind regards

B. Zinke

  • Hi Benny

There is none for this device. The data sheet serves as the TRM as it has all the info about the registers.

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

Maybe you have a different datasheet than the one available on the website. There are missing several register addresses, explanations and so on. Examples:
    1. A footnote mentions that the bypass option must be activated. There is nothing in the whole data sheet about this.
2 What are the addresses of the registers of the connected charger?
    3. Where are the individual bits of some registers explained? Flags, Control etc.
It was possible for me to decode some commands and registers with the Eval-Kit or to capture the addresses with the oscilloscope. But I don't have time to decode the complete device. I assume that a device marked as "active" also has a TRM. Sometimes the TRMs of similar BQ275xx also helped. But they don't match completely.
Therefore I ask TI to publish a TRM for the BQ27530 or to put the chip on sale.

    Kind regards

  • Hi Benny

Sorry for the trouble. I have notified the team on the incompleteness of the data sheet. In the meanwhile pls reference the TRM for the bq27531 which is a similar device, and refer to the charger data sheet for the description of the charger registers.

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

Thank you. Where or how will I get feedback when a TRM is finished?

    Kind regards

    B.Zinke

  • Hi Benny

I wish the process for releasing a TRM was a simple one, it isn't. Unfortunately, there is no time line set at this time but it will be worked on. It will be several months.

    thanks
