UC1705-SP: Junction Temp Spec

Part Number: UC1705-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7H1101A-SP, , TPS50601A-SP

Hello,

In the UC1705-SP datasheet, the temperature is spec'd as "Operating Temperature Range”, while in our other space grade devices like TPS50601A-SP and TPS7H1101A-SP you see it spec’d as “Operating Junction Temperature”. The former makes me think it is an ambient temperature spec instead of a junction temperature.

Are those two just different terminology for the same spec?

If not, what is the maximum operating junction temperature of UC1705-SP?

Thank you!

Regards,
Ryan B.

  • Hey Ryan,

They are essentially the same thing.

The UC1705-SP is a very old datasheet and thus the terminology has not been updated.

At some point we realized that saying it was ambient didn't make sense for space.

We then changed it to max junction temperature.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
