I would like to connect a relay to 2 spare outputs in parallel. The relay voltage is the V+ voltage, 1 V drop accepted and the relay current is below the set current.
Freeheel diode is added as normal.
Is this possible ?

Frank,
It simply is I have no IO left on the controller and I do have some outputs on the TLC59116-Q1. If I look at the output graphs in the datasheet I should be ok. The set current is at 19 mA, 2 outputs in parallel give 38 mA. The relay has coil resistance 160 ohm max. V+ is 5V. The graph in the datasheet tells me that output voltage will be less than 0,4V, leaving 4,6V over the relay coil which is more than enough to operate is.
Is this possible or do you advice against it ?
Thanks for your help.
hi
the device is a liner device, so if you use this relay the voltage between LED can't reach its forward voltage, so the led cant illumiate.
Hi,
Whats a Liner device ? Did you mean linear ?
Anyway, there is no led on this outputs.. I simply use 2 outputs in parallel to drive one relay. The first 8 ouputs drive leds though ... Did you mean that the precense of a relay on some outputs can affect the led driving on other outputs ? ... I hope not ...
Hi
Could you give me your schematic and relay's datasheet, and then i can fully unerstand your issue.
