TPS2105: external cap

Part Number: TPS2105

Is there any problem if the input cap is 1uF with the TPS2105? Thanks.

Regards

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

The input capacitance needed is dependent on the strength of the power supply. When the device switches from one input to another, there will be a sudden increase in current on one of the channels and additional inrush current depending on the output capacitor. 1uF of input capacitance will not cause any problems with the device, but the voltage supply may dip depending on how well it can handle transients.

    Thanks,
