UCC27211A-Q1: Can the HS Bootstrap drives two FETs?

Part Number: UCC27211A-Q1

hi Sir/Miss,

Is it possible to drive two similar HS FETs with Bootstrap?

Gate charge is now 2 times.

Is the calculation below correct?

Gate capacitance, C = (Gate charge x 2) / (VDD - Vboot diode)

Bootstrap capacitance > 10 x Gate capacitance ?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

Wilson

  • Hello Wilson,

Thank you for the interest in the UCC27211A-Q1. Yes it is possible to driver two MOSFETs with the high side gate driver. It is good practice to have separate gate resistors to each MOSFET gate to the driver output. The effective gate capacitance will be as you show, 2x Qg(VDD - Vf (boot diode). The bootstrap capacitance = 10x gate capacitance is a good guideline for the boot capacitance value.
