REF3130: Total Power Dissipation (Pd) and Maximum Case Temperature (Tcmax)

Part Number: REF3130
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLVH431

Hi E2E,

Good day.

Our customer is looking for the Total Power Dissipation (Pd) and Maximum Case Temperature (Tcmax) of REF3130AIDBZR and TLVH431AQDBZR. This information is not in the datasheet, is there a way to compute these parameters?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Carlo

  • Hi Carlo,

There is a way of doing this based on datasheet information.

This is done using the thermal information on section 7.4 and the information on section 7.3.

Maximum power dissipation is a function of TJ(max), θJA, and TA. The maximum allowable power dissipation at any allowable ambient temperature is PD = (TJ(max) – TA )/ θJA . Operating at the absolute maximum TJ of 150°C can affect reliability.

    REF3130. From 25C I would use PD = (150C - 25C)/292.2 = 0.427W

    TLVH431. From 25C I would use PD = (150C - 25C)/206 = 0.606W
