LP3470: Total Power Dissipation (Pd) and Maximum Case Temperature (Tcmax)

Hi E2E,

Good day.

Our customer is looking for the Total Power Dissipation (Pd) and Maximum Case Temperature (Tcmax) of LP3470IM5-2.75/NOPB. This information is not in the datasheet, is there a way to compute these parameters?

    Hi Carlo,

    For total power dissipation, please look at the absolute maximum ratings table shown here along with footnote (3), which describes the max under thermal load.

    For Maximum case temperature, you should be able to calculate as below

    Tjunction-max – (RƟjunction-to-case* Pdissipated) = Tcase-max

    125 - (124.8 * 0.3) = 87.56deg
