UCC24610: Modifying TIDA-00704 for 12V output

Part Number: UCC24610
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC29950, LM258

Team,

TIDA-00704 was designed to support output voltages of 20 to 32V.  We have a customer who needs to know how this should be modified to support 12V out.

This design uses UCC24610 as the sync controller, UCC29950 for the PFC/LLC, and LM258 on the feedback path.

Thanks,

Darren

  • Hello Darren,

The "Part Number" associated with this post is "UCC24610".  Are you (or the customer) asking how to modify the parameters for all of the ICs in the TIDA-00704 design, or only the Sync Rectifier (SR) section?

For the SR, the existing circuit may be used, but the SR MOSFET will need to be changed such that its Rds(on) conforms to the recommendation of the UCC24610 datasheet.  This is based on the output current level, which was not provided.  The SR controller minimum on and off times may also need to be adjusted depending on the new power stage timing.

Unfortunately, I am not able to help with the other two devices, although I think following the design procedure in the UCC29950 datasheet would probably be a good course of action.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
