Because it is new product we use.

Could you kindly help to review the schematic?

  • User4206464,

Our PSE Applications Engineer is currently on business travel.  I would prefer to have her review this when she returns to the office next week.  Are you able to wait until then or is this more urgent?

Thank you for your interest in PoE products from Texas Instruments,

  • Hi,

    This case is very urgent.

Could you kindly help to review?

  • Hi ,

The PSE portion looks good to me. But I have a question about the MSP430FR5969. Is this MCU used for I2C to SPI translation or PSE controller?  Who will write the code? Thanks.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Penny,

Thank you very much. MCU is used for I2C and TI will provide a reference code for us.

By the way, I have another question.

Our design follows TI reference design PSE System Firmware Evaluation Module for TPS2388x.

Can we remove U9 and U11?

Do you have any concern for this change?FirmPSE_SystemUsersGuide_SLVUBN3.7z

  • Hi ,

Please be aware that if you want to use MSP430FR5969, you will need to develop your own system software code with reference code from TI. However, if you want to have production ready code (FirmPSE) from TI, you will need to use MSP430F5234.

Do you mean U9 and U11 on the PSEMTHR24EVM-081 board? U9 and U11 on the  PSEMTHR24EVM-081 board are used to isolate power good signals from power supplies. If the you don't need to support multiple power supplies or you have PG signals isolated already, you will not need U9 and U11. I will take this discussion offline to describe more details specifically about this project. Thanks.

    Best regards,
