BQ25120: bq25120

Part Number: BQ25120

Hi Ti,

I have consumption problems with bq25120 when there are glitches on Vin power supply; it seems that sometimes it absorbs about 0.7mA more than the standard operation. Even when bq25120 going into "standby mode", this consumption remains. The only way to get out of this state is to feed Vin again.

Battery is a li-ion 3.7V and 150mAh.

Can you help me?

Thanks.

Renzo

  • Hello Renzo,

    Can you show a scope capture of VIN and PMID when the glitch on VIN occurs. Also what current do you see in standard operation?

  • Hi Raheem,

    thank you for quick answer!
    In the meantime we have discovered that the fall edge of VIN is too slow to produce this excessive consumption. Attached there are the waveforms (Vin, Pmid, Vbat) when the consumption becomes excessive.

    • We need recognize this situation: is it possible from I2C to read some register to do this?

    • Afterwards, is it possible to get out of this situation (ie by writing some registers)?

    We dumps the register values in this situation:

    r00=0x03
    r01=0x4F
    r02=0x08
    r03=0x88
    r04=0x26
    r05=0x78
    r06=0xEA
    r07=0x7C
    r08=0x68
    r09=0x3A
    r0A=0x6C
    r0B=0x86

    We tries to set bit 7 in the 0x09 register, but without result. We will appreciate any hint (the problem was presented by the customer ...).

    Thank You. Best Regards.

    Renzo
