TPS54332: Compensation circuit

Hi, I'm attempting to calculate the compensation components for the TPS54332.

I'm having issues with the phase loss calculation in the datasheet (equation 22): From the numbers that are in the datasheet, I should end up with a phase loss of 93.94 degrees. but I never get this result.

Could someone from TI help me with this?

Hi,

Please see below calculation:

PL= αtan(2*π*50*1000*0.001*54/1000/1000)-αtan(2*π*50*1000*2.5/3.5*54/1000/1000)-10=-94.31

It is close to -93.94.

I think I get where I was confused, I got the same result when I use ARCTAN and substracted 10degrees.

In the datasheet the formula isn't exactly clear as the α character is not really "one word" with the TAN part... so I figured it was a multiplication factor for both terms.

Question: why is this additional 10 substracted? In the calculation result of the PB factor (63.64 degrees) in the datasheet, it seems to be as if it was never substracted at all.

Hi,

Because this is theoretical calculation and the slop compensation is not considered, so 10 degree is used for correction.
