TPS7A11: Voltage range for EN and BIAS pin

Part Number: TPS7A11
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV755

Hi, team,

I would like to know the voltage range for EN pin. User application use 1.8V for Vin and BIAS pin, and voltage range for EN is 3.3V which may controlled by exterenal MCU.

- Vin : 1.8V (Vout=0.8V)
- BIAS : 1.8V
- EN : 3.3V

Is it possible to support customer condition?

Regards,
Nagata.

  • HI Nagata-san,

What is the load current? This could be marginal. We do have the following graph in the datasheet:

This shows the bias drop-out is exceeding 1V at 125C. So how well this works will depend on the actual load current requirement.

A much more robust design would be to use the 3.3V rail to drive VBIAS. Why do they not want to do that?

    Regards,

  • Hi, John,

Thank you for your supports. Simply, user requirements are

    - Vin : 1.8V

    - Vout : 0.8V Fixed output

    - Iout : 200mA (Max 500mA)

    - EN : controlled by 3.3V I/O from MCU

I found TPA7A11 which support above requirement. User will not use BIAS pin. Do you have recommend device instead of TPS7A11?

    Regards,
    Nagata.

  • Hi Nagata-san,

I think the TPS7A11 with Vbias tied to Vin, might be marginal.

The TLV755 meets the requirements below.

Please let me know what you think.
