WEBENCH® Tools/LMZ12001: LMZ12001 Efficiency

Hello,

I'm looking to use the LMZ12001 and I'm sensitive to the efficiency of the device. When I look at the plots for a 12V input and 0.8V output (Figure 9), for currents greater than 0.4A the efficiency is always better than 75%. However, when I open the design in webench setting the same parameters (Vin, Iout, Vout, Temp) the efficiency reported can't even get into the 70% range.

Which number should I be using for efficiency?

Hi Mark,

Please use the datasheet values.

I will review the efficiency model with the WEBENCH team and request it be updated as needed.

Hi Mark,

Seems application schematic in datasheet has switching frequency of 200KHz (Ron = 32 KOhm), and Webench schematic has 300KHz (Ron = 20KOhm) hence the efficiency difference.
