Hello,

I'd like to know input voltage range of LM136-2.5N.

Is it only necessary to satisfy the operating current(400uA to 10mA) using a serial resistor regardless of the input voltage range? Or should I consider the input voltage range?

If I do not need to consider the input voltage range, can I use it as follows?

Hello,

That is correct. The resistor needs to be chosen to satisfy the current limit requirements. With the properly chosen resistor, the voltage on the low end of the resistor will be 2.5V, so there will be no overvoltage at the part.

There is an excel table in to help with choosing the proper sized resistor.
