TL1963A: Vout pin leakage current during shutdown

Part Number: TL1963A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A26

Hi Team,

My customer is using Vin = 16V,Vout = 15V.

I found a “Quiescent current in shutdown” in the datasheet.

This operating condition is Vin = 6V. However I would like to know the maximum value at 25℃ when Vin = 16.4V.

Is the graph in Figure 14. a typ. Value?

Reference information is OK.

Best Regards,

Kenji

  • HI Ohno-san,

The graph in Figure 14 shows an average of 30 parts over temperature. This provides a better understanding of what to expect over the line in the electrical characteristics table below.

Keep in mind Iq is a measure of current from VIN to GND. There is additional leakage as a function of the feedback divider resistors R1/R2. The TL1963 is a 25C worst-case Adj pin leakage current of 10µA:

Of course in shutdown, this does not matter so much.

If your application does not need 1.5A of load current, the TPS7A26 might be a nice option. This is a 2.5µA Iq 500mA LDO that has a much lower FB leakage current:

Let me know what you think.

  • Hi JCHK,

    Thank you for your answer.

    However,I see the following post;

     e2e.ti.com/.../2505213

With exactly the same phenomenon, I suggest to the customer that the resistance capacity needs to be lowered.

I ask the maximum value question because I received it from the customer.

    Best Regards,

    Kenji

  • HI Kenji-san,

This is an older device so the figure 14 graph is the best data we have.
