TLC59108: Flicker in Parallel Outputs

Part Number: TLC59108

Hi, team.

When TLC59108 is used in parallel as shown in the data sheet Fig24, flicker occurs.

What would be your first advice when troubleshooting?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Hirotsugu,

    Could you capture the waveform plot of output current when flicker occurs? It is better to save it with the VCC/output voltage together.

    And what is your settings of the device? Like VCC/VLED/output current/PWM.

  • Hi Hardy,

    The output current waveform cannot be measured at present.

    The settings are as follows

     Vcc=3.3V

     VLED=15V

     Iour(Rext)=100mA(188-ohm)

     PWM:50/100/255

    Since there is only one LED, there is enough headroom voltage.

    Is there any flickering when using with multiple channels?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Hirotsugu,

    It should be OK when using multiple channels. I think there are some noise influenced output current so I want to check current waveform.And the setting in EVM also can work normally. What is the flickering looks like? Is it flick quickly or periodically? Could you try only 1 channel or set dowm the PWM to see if the flickering still exist?
