Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC24630, LM2903, LM8364
Hi Team,
Can I have some classical schematic suggestion for input under/over voltage protection based on UC3842? Tks a lot.

Hi Team,
Any body can sugggestion with me? Ti guy, tks a lot.

Hi Xiaobing,
You will need to use an external comparator to implement the input under voltage or over voltage protection.
Most designs only use input under voltage protection.
The UCC24630 uses an external self biasing comparator, U5, for this function, see
By pulling the COMP pin to 0V on the UC3842 low it can be disabled. Once the input voltage rises above the turn on value the circuit can release the COMP pin and normal operation can start.

Hi Peter,
Tks for your suggestion.
Now I'm using LM2903 on under-voltage/over-voltage protection circuit, but as the chip's current requirement, the current limiting resistor value is small and more consumption on it.
So I would like to try low power consumption comparator, LM8364 is good one, if dual comparator and soic8 will probably better, can I have your suggestion for dual comparator? Tks a lot.

Hi Xiaobing,
I do not know TI's range of comparators very well. Can I ask you to open a new post on this topic and someone for the Comparator team will help you select the best part.
Thanks
Peter
