TPS61158: Doesn't recover from shutdown

Part Number: TPS61158

Hi

We use the TPS61158 in PWM mode in one of our products as display backlight driver. The PWM signal is 50kHz and varies between 2...100%. In general, the device works as expected but we sometimes get returns from customers where the LCD backlight does not work anymore. In these cases, it looks like the TPS61158 is in shutdown mode and does not turn on even when CTRL is high (I can only measure VBAT at VOUT). Pulling CTRL to zero for >3.5ms doesn't help. The only thing that helps is removing and reconnecting the battery (VBAT). After that, everything works again as expected. Unfortunately, this behaviour is not reproducible and happens rarely.

Any idea what's happening here?
